Mitosis Diagrams

Class GD 400: Visual Representation in Design     Year 2026     Type
Our task was to create an interactive visual display that builds meaning for the mitosis system. I designed interactions that allowed the user to control how information is revealed, organized, and transformed in order to expand the depth of your topic. The goal was to design a system that supports understanding as users learn and grow, rather than just creating a single “perfect” diagram.
I started by creating simplified and complex versions of the mitosis stages; by having these two different versions, users could access the information quickly and remember at first glance, but could still expand for a more thorough explanation. I implemented motion to help convey these stages, since mitosis can be a difficult subject to understand (especially for me), and to further assist in recalling.
